Brake disc: if all four wheels are disc brakes, all four wheels will have a brake disc. The brake disc is a component rotating with the wheel. It can prevent the wheel from continuing to rotate. Brake caliper: the brake caliper is a component attached to the front and rear of the brake disc. The calipers we usually see are basically single piston or double piston cars. Brake pad: the brake skin is a wear-resistant part in contact with the brake disc, which belongs to wear and tear products. As shown in the figure, it is installed in the brake caliper. The pressure exerted by the brake skin on the brake disc is the key action of vehicle deceleration.

 

Brake oil pipes: these oil pipes work even if they deliver brake oil. When the brake pedal is pressed, the brake oil will flow to the brake caliper on each wheel through the pipeline, and push the piston in the caliper to move to clamp the brake disc.

 

After introducing the composition of the braking system, how can we enhance the braking effect? We know that when the car is driving, some emergencies are unpredictable. Sometimes, the braking distance may differ by 1 meter, which is the maximum distance between people.

 

First, we can increase the radius of the brake disc, because the braking force is equal to the force applied by the brake skin multiplied by the distance from the center of the wheel. Generally, increasing the distance from the center is a good thing in this case. Therefore, in the market, the radius of many modified brake discs is larger than that of the original brake disc, so that the larger brake disc can provide greater braking force. Secondly, we can increase the area of caliper piston. This is what we usually call changing the caliper. Increasing the size and number of pistons in the caliper means that more areas apply specific pressure. If the pressure remains constant and the area increases, the applied force will increase accordingly. Then increase the pressure of oil pipe and pipeline, and the braking force will also increase. If you can increase the pipeline pressure, such as using vacuum brake booster, you can indirectly optimize the braking effect. The last is to increase the friction coefficient between brake skin and disc. Simply put, it is to replace the brake disc, such as carbon ceramic brake disc (preferred by tuhao). In addition, replace the brake skin, which is also the simplest way to increase the friction coefficient between the brake skin and the brake disc.

 

Three principles for identifying the direction of the brake caliper: 1. Under all installation conditions, the opening of the oil drain screw (vent) must face upward; 2. On the contrary, the position of the external oil pipeline of the brake caliper must face downward; 3. When the brake disc rotates, its rotation direction path must follow the direction from the small piston to the large piston of the brake caliper.
