Modification of braking system
Usually, the original vehicles are equipped with single piston calipers when leaving the factory. The diameter of the brake disc is relatively small. Most of the original brake skins are made of materials with high content of metal components. When braking, the torque is small, the braking capacity of the calipers is poor, and the braking distance naturally becomes longer.
Generally speaking, when driving in the urban area, due to the close following distance, when the front car suddenly stops in case of emergency, the rear car often cannot stop immediately, which is easy to cause traffic accidents.
Especially when the engine performance is improved, the starting horsepower is significantly enhanced. To stop instantly, a better braking system must be modified to cooperate.
So how to improve the brake to the state of instant stop when the car is refitted? The most effective way is to upgrade the whole braking system. Usually people who like to change the car will refit the wheel hub to increase the torque generated during braking and enhance the effect of ventilation and heat dissipation.
The brake caliper can also be refitted from the original single side single piston to the opposite four piston. This multi piston configuration can make the pressure generated by the caliper more evenly distributed on the left and right brake pads during braking. This braking system configuration can withstand the high temperature of more than 800 degrees, so that the phenomenon of heat failure during braking almost does not exist.
The heat-resistant steel plate is also made of tungsten alloy plate with high heat resistance, which is also used for heat treatment.
Corresponding to the brake disc, it is better to replace the brake oil pipe used to strengthen the brake kit when refitting the car with metal oil pipe resistant to high temperature expansion, because the original brake oil pipe is made of rubber and metal mesh, and the high temperature generated during braking will expand the oil pipe and offset part of the pressure adding channel of the brake, so it is also necessary to replace the metal oil pipe.
As for the material of brake calipers, most of them are made of cast steel. Although they are safe and reliable, their disadvantage is that they are extremely heavy. Therefore, the current high-grade brake calipers are made of aluminum alloy forged materials with the same safety and several times lighter weight, so that the brake calipers can be lightweight.
