BELFE Motor Operation Guide
The parking brake usually refers to the manual brake installed on the motor vehicle, referred to as the handbrake, which is used to stabilize the vehicle after the vehicle is stopped and avoid accidents caused by slipping when the vehicle is parked on a slope road. The common handbrake is generally placed in the drooping position of the driver's right hand, which is easy to use. Some automatic transmission models on the market are equipped with a foot brake with the same function as the handbrake on the outside of the driver's left foot, and some advanced models are also equipped with an electronic parking brake system.
To apply the parking brake, press down on the brake pedal and pull the parking brake lever all the way up. To release the parking brake, press down on the brake pedal, pull the parking brake lever up slightly, press the button on the handle end with your thumb, and lower the parking brake lever to its original position.
For cars equipped with automatic transmissions, be sure to apply the parking brake before moving the gear lever to the "P" (park) position. When parking on an incline, if you shift into the "P" position before applying the parking brake, the weight of the body will make it difficult to shift out of the "P" (park) gear when you are ready to start the car.
When preparing to start the vehicle, the gear lever should be shifted out of the "P" (park) position before releasing the parking brake.
Do not tighten the parking brake when driving the car, otherwise the rear brake will be reduced due to overheating, the brake life will be shortened or permanent brake damage will occur.
If the parking brake does not hold the car stably, or does not release completely, ask your dealer or service station to have it checked immediately. Always apply the parking brake fully before leaving the car, otherwise the car will move and cause injury or damage. When parked, make sure the shift lever is in neutral for manual transmission vehicles: leave the shift lever in the "P" (Park) or "N" (Neutral) position for automatic transmission vehicles, and most automatic transmissions The car ignition key can only be pulled out when the car is only in P gear. Unless there are special circumstances, it is strictly forbidden to park the car transmission in the forward gear (D, S, L or with Arabic numerals, etc.) or reverse gear (R) position.
When parking in extremely cold climates, the following procedures should be followed:
(1) Apply the parking brake.
(2) Put the shift lever of a manual transmission vehicle in the 1st gear or "R" (reverse gear) position; make the shift lever of an automatic transmission vehicle in the "P" (parking gear) position.
(3) Turn off the engine, get off the car, and put a plug under the wheel.
(4) Release the parking brake.
When you return to the park, you must remember to apply the parking brake first, then remove the plug
